Keith and Linda gave a presentation about their recent holiday to the States, which followed the Colonial Trail along East Coast America.

Flying into Boston, the Pounders picked up their hire car and headed for Plymouth Rock, the final disembarkation point for the Mayflower. Linda informed us that the first settlers were not Pilgrims, but Puritans disillusioned by the Catholic leanings of the Church of England.

Next stop was Philadelphia, where they joined a walking tour of this great city. In Williamsburg Linda and Keith were impressed by the living museum that is the original settlement within the wider town of this former capital. On this action packed holiday, they also visited Jamestown, Yorktown and Washington D.C. before making their way back to Boston and their flight home.

Fourteen of our members joined the afternoon trip to Pendle Village Mill on Tuesday, 12th June. We enjoyed a meal altogether and then spent the rest of the time browsing and shopping, what could be better!
